Munich & Oktoberfest

We went to Munich last year for the opening weekend of the Oktoberfest 2013.

We took the bus on Friday evening in Paris, arrived to Munich on Saturday morning and went to see the arrival parade of the tent patrons.

We couldn’t get a seat inside as everyone seems really organised and well, we just came with nothing prepared. So we went to see Munich on the first afternoon.We did the toy museum while over there, walked around the city, the huge park, see the local surfers, took drinks at biergarten and came back on the Oktoberfest when people started to go, so we can have a beer sitting.

Second day was spent mostly on the festival ground, eating, brinking and having a look at all the nice tents. We took the bus back on Sunday evening and arrived back in Paris on monday morning just in time to go back to work!

Munich is a beautiful city, and the weather was quite nice. We have good local food, quite a lot of beer! Oktoberfest is really entertaining, though you should probably plan a bit in advance and book yourself some table in the tents! Hopefuly we will go back in 2014!

Nous sommes allé à Munich pour le weekend d’ouverture de l’Oktoberfest 2013.

Nous sommes partis de Paris en bus le vendredi soir pour arrivé à Munich le Samedi matin. Après avoir déposé les bagages nous sommes allé voir la parade d’ouverture de l’Oktoberfest avec l’arrivée des familles des brasseurs présents.

Cependant il était difficile d’avoir une place assise car les gens réservent jusqu’à un an à l’avance! Nous sommes donc parti visiter Munich le premier après-midi, marcher dans la ville et dans les parcs, faire le musée du jouet, voir les surfers locaux, boire une bière dans un Biergarten, et sommes revenus au festival lorsque les gens commençaient à partir pour pouvoir boire quelques bières assis.

Nous avons passé le deuxième jour au festival, profitant de l’ambiance et visitant l’ensemble des tentes en buvant des bières et en mangeant local. Puis bus le dimanche soir et arrivée le lundi matin à Paris, juste à temps pour le boulot!

Munich est vraiment une jolie ville ou il est agréable de se promener, et l’Oktoberfest vaut vraiment le coup pour passer un moment atypique, par contre il vaut mieux penser à réserver à l’avance, certaines personnes commencent à réserver un an à l’avance! On y retournera surement cette année!
